Interior painting is much less serious than outside work. Your house won’t fall down because you didn’t paint the living room. But it is equally true that nothing makes a bigger difference than painting when you want to update your home and make it into a cozy, inviting space you are proud of.

Preparation

  • New, unprimed wood will be primed prior to application of the finish coat(s).

  • Wood cracks and joints will be sealed with a paint-grade caulking.

  • Patch holes and cracked sheetrock if necessary and spot prime.

  • Peeling areas will be scraped and sanded to provide a smooth surface for painting.

  • Prepare Room(s) – (Drop cloths, Masking, Furniture Protection) Furnishings and floors will be protected with drop-clothes and painter’s plastic sheeting to prevent damage from paint spatters.

From flat to gloss, both latex and oil/alkyd paints offer a full range of finishes. The sheen you choose is based on the final look and wearability you want to achieve.
